ICMCI (CMC-Global) contributes to the development of the consulting industry in many different ways. 

 CMC-Global's one of the initiative is working with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on the development and implementation of ISO 20700 to enhance the consulting service on the deliverables and outcomes.

ISO 20700 is the first ISO service delivery standard in the world for management consulting and service providers to ensure service delivery and quality to their clients. It includes recommendations to improve the specification, execution, acceptance of the outcome and closure of management consultancy services, based on research and the experience of a wide range of MCSPs and their clients.

ISO 20700 brings increased attention to this important aspect of transparency between the consultant, who is delivering the services, and the client, who is receiving the services. It’s beneficial to both.

This new standard aims to improve understanding between clients and management consultancy service providers, to achieve better results from consultancy projects.

The International Standard (ISO 20700) can build trust between service providers and clients, reduce risk in management consultancy service, and let consultants provide their expertise, advise, and supports to the clients' organization with no barriers.

     ISO 20700 Operation

ISO 20700 marks an essential requirements and Self-Declaration Checklist and Guidelines about the service, especially with regard to the ability to set clear expectations and provide the best possible services to clients.

(A) Three phases of services: Contracting, Execution, and Closure

(B) Three categories of projects: Small, Medium, and Large/Complex business

to enable service providers, well understand the client's expectation and  let clients to communicate effectively with service providers.

CMC-Global and its Member Institutes to provide the training to all MCSPs as well as Certified Management Consultants (CMCs) of IMCs, with a certificate issued by the IMCs and ICMCI. IMCHK is the unique trainer on behalf of ICMCI to provide training and certification of ISO 20700 in Hong Kong and Macau. IMCHK also support the training in Geater Bay Areas.  

IMCHK partnered with training bodies provide ISO 20700 training (1 day) and certification of in regional area (Hong Kong and Macau) to all MCSPs and let them to learn how to apply the Self-Declaration Checklist and Guidelines on the services.

     Universally Applicable       

ISO 20700 is an easy-to-understand guidance/checklist document, written from the management consultancy.

It can universally applies to all MCSPs, whatever their size, Industries or specialism, including partnerships, associations, governmental and non-governmental organizations, internal departments of corporations, etc.

Innovation, differentiation and ethical behaviour are important parts of an MCSP’s value proposition.

ISO 20700 provides easy and flexible guideline and checklist focus on the deliverables and outcomes to maintain the value of management consulting.

MCSPs are free to use their own methods and approaches to apply ISO 20700 guideline and checklist on their consulting services.
